Food poisoning. Apathetic service. What more do I need to say?

After our two days of meetings in Salt Lake City area concluded three weeks ago, my colleague and I decided to drive up to Park City to poke around. We had a few hours to kill. It was off-season, so Main Street in Park City was relatively quiet. We walked down the length of the commercial area, then back. Because Flannigan's looked like a cool place, we nipped in there. When we sat at the bar we were greeted by the friendly bartender as well as a couple of patrons from Texas. As we worked on our pints for the next 15 minutes we had some good laughs with staff and patrons. We didn't have food, but we certainly had a good time.

Son and I had lunch here on a Tuesday afternoon. Sat outside on their patio/deck along Main Street. Nice views of the shopping district and good spot for people-watching. The chalkboard listed a $5 special on pints of beer. When ordering, turns out it does not apply to all pints. The waitress had to specify which beer was part of the special. Seemed like a bait-and-switch. Fortunately, the Irish Red was part of the deal and a decent tasting beer. Had a couple. They had a half-pound cheeseburger that looked very good based on the description on the regular menu. The lunch menu noted a special on burgers that day, for a few dollars less than the regular menu, so I went with it. Turns out the lunch burger is much smaller, so it wasn't much of a special after all. Just less money for less food. A far cry from a "5 Guys" burger, Culvers burger, Smashburger, In-and-Out burger, etc. Also, and this is a pet peeve of mine... the menu listed some, but apparently not everything they put on the burger before they send it out. It came smeared with mayo on both parts of the bun, and the mayo permanently entwined with the shredded lettuce. Required a scrape-off. Who automatically puts mayo on a burger without specifying it or asking the customer? They didn't put ketchup or mustard or BBQ sauce on the burger, making the mayo issue especially odd. The bun was also very dry throughout, probably a couple days old, or it was sitting under a heat lamp too long. Detracted significantly from the texture and taste. It should not be hard to serve up a spectacular cheeseburger every time. The fries were very good, though. My son liked his (pricey) salmon entree. Didn't make up for the burger deficiencies, though. The service was adequate and it was not very busy at all. Decent classic rock music on the outside speaker. Overall, I recommend this restaurant specifically for drinks and appetizers outside with friends. Some of the entrees may be good, as was the salmon, but stay away from those smaller burgers.

I went to Flanagans on July 18th, 2015 around 5:30pm We walked into the place and it instantly didn't smell right, kind of like rotten seafood. I wasn't expecting this from an Irish place. We decided to try it anyway. It took us 10 minutes to be seated because there was no one to seat us. The bartender just kept looking at my group of four but didn't say a word so we awkwardly stood there until the waitress came to us. There was only one waitress working for the entire place, she seemed very frustrated running around. She did not offer refills for my drink (an iced tea) and I can to continually ask for artificial sugar. I ordered: 1) Cleo's Baked Mac and Cheese: I shared this with a friend and it tasted like macaroni and cheese marinated in SAUERKRAUT. It was very funky. I wouldn't recommend it. 2) Shrimp Pop's: I thought these sounded good because they were shrimp wrapped in bacon the shrimp was over cooked (by a lot) and they only gave four pieces of shrimp in some kind of lemon sauce. I would say fine ok but they charged $16 dollars for a very underwhelming appetizer. 3) Reuben Rolls: These were actually good. 4) My boyfriend got the potato leak soup. He had no complaints about the soup. I tried a bite of it but I don't remember being overly excited about it. I ended up getting sick that night, considering I hadn't eaten at any other establishments that day or the day before I am guessing it was here but I can't say for sure. I probably will not be returning to this restaurant. If you go order something reuben.

Nice pub in Park City. Stopped by for a quick bite before shopping and hiking. Loved the leek and potato soup and of course the Guinness Blonde! Definitely will be back on our next trip through park city.

Great service both times we visited during our stay in the area! I would recommend dropping in for a cold one or two and some typical bar food. This place also has an interesting history and a connection to the actual Father Flanagan. Their Flanagans Red on Tap is perfect and should you visit I highly recommend you try the Spicy Potatoes. They are like spicy chicken wings only better, you will thank me for this recommendation. There appears to be a bar below where they have live performances but can not speak to this area since we dined and drank in their beautiful, cozy bar area on the main floor. The hostess and waitress that took care of us were friendly and attentive but not bothersome. We actually had the same hostess for both visits and the first visit things were slow enough that she also waited on us. This place should definitely be on your list of places to visit in the area.

Flanagan's is awesome! Request a special cocktail from Tanner if it's the last thing you do in Park City. Incredible stuff

We stopped into Flanagans during a weekend visit to Deer Valley. Met the manager, Tommy Bergin, who shared the story of Father Flanagan (wiki Boys Town if you have never heard of him) and Charlie Kenworthy, a reformed juvenile delinquent (and grandfather of the current owner of Flanagans). Wish he had more time to hang out at the bar, fun place. Make sure you check out the great photographs posted in the front of the bar (as you enter bar take sharp right.). Great story parkrecord.com/summit_co… ?

Packed at 3:00pm when we arrived... Stood around for a few minutes... 1 Waitress, 1 Bartender, not sure how many cooks were cooking... We stood around for a few minutes waiting to be seating... Waitress eventually greets us and directs us to table that still needed cleaning... We sat for a few more minutes... Waitress is busy running around to the other tables... We assumed this was going to take a long while to get food and drinks... So we got up and left...

My son, his girlfriend, myself and my wife ended up here on a snowy Saturday afternoon. As the name indicates, it is located on main street in Park City, Utah. We were given the table at the front. The rest of the place was actively watching a Saturday afternoon football game. Food choices: we started off with drinks and the Mussels with white wine sauce and the bacon wrapped shrimp. The mussels were excellent, the 4 bacon wrapped shrimp could have been a little cheaper, given the amount. But taste wise, excellent. I was the only one to continue with a meal. I had the Irish burger which consisted of a 1/4 lb burger with sliced corned beef on top, onions, swiss cheese and a horseradish mayo sauce. The side was a good set of fries with a tasty brown gravy on top. I was pretty full when I left. The service was pretty good, actually very good, given the amount of people at the bar drinking and watching the game.

Stopped in here for lunch. Lots of drinks on tap, and great food! Waitress was super friendly. My order was taken quickly, and I was quite impressed to get food just five minutes later. I had the Reuben Sandwich and the Potato Leak Soup, and it was fantastic! I would highly recommend this place for their fast service and excellent food. Will definitely be stopping here next time I'm in town!

Got here right at noon. Had the lunch special $8.95 before 3:00p. Half shepherds pie and salad. My husband had the corned beef sandwich with potato soup. Awesome!! Very tasty and satisfying. Flanagan'sbeer was good too.

The curry and fries were a delightful surprise. The bar music pounds, delightful rap sounds. The cream Mac and cheese, did my pregnant wife please. The waiter is near to take care of you here.

Great place to stop in for a drink after skiiing. Sit at the bar and order some shrimp pops. It's shrimp wrappend in bacon for Heaven's sake. Simply astounding. Also, when the kids are with me there are some options for them as well. The staff is always great. Bartenders are all cool. There's also this barback with great hair who's got some real charisma.

There aren't a lot of "family friendly" options available on Historic Main Street, so imagine our surprise (and joy) when we saw that Flanagan's Irish Pub & Restaurant had a children's menu. Since we are huge fans of Irish and British bar foods (and Guinness) and the prices looked really reasonable, we decided to check it out. We hit the exact right time on the Saturday night of a holiday weekend between waves of crowds and were able to get seated right away. It's also important to mention that in spite of the place being incredibly packed, service was great. After looking at the menu, we decided we were going to focus on going for an appetizer-only dinner (although our older son did order the shepherd's pie) and a variety of Irish beers. We (wrongly) assumed that with such great prices, the portions would be a bit on the smaller side, but they were enormous. Each entree is a platter of food. I sampled some of my son's shepherd's pie, which was delicious, and we ordered the fish poppers which are like a bite size version of fish & chips served with tarter sauce. Again, delicious, but the #1 best thing we had were the Reuben Rolls: flash fried puff pastry filled with corned beef, cheese, and sauerkraut served with a side of Thousand Island Dressing. The Reuben Rolls are everything that is wonderful about a Reuben sandwich but light (in texture) and completely decadent. They are so delicious that I'm actually hesitant to write about how great they are because I'm worried people will read this and Flanagans will be sold out on future visits. We had such a great experience there on that Saturday that we followed it up with a Monday visit when the tourists had left town and we could have a more leisurely experience. The food was still great and the service even better since the staff actually had a moment to breathe. We ordered the Reuben Rolls again as well as the spicy potatoes (with hot wing sauce), fish & chips, and the corned beef and cabbage entree. Everything was, one again, phenomenal and the portions were enormous. Flanagan's will definitely be one of our regular stops whenever we come back to town in the future.

Fun spot with better service than most PC spots on Main Street. Fish & Chips were spot on, as were corned beef, burgers, Mac & cheese. Some dishes were a bit too salty, though, and a few in our party were grumbling about the short pours and high prices of the whisky.

Not sure of the bartender's name, but that's probably a good thing. He's such a tool. If you're not listening to his hay day stories of being a rugby player (so he says), he's probably going to forget you exist. Luckily they have an amazing person by the name of "Boston". She not only took care of her tables, she took the time to make sure I was taken care of. I would easily give this place 1 star if it was not for her.

We went here before a concert and I was not that impressed, I thought the portions would be bigger especially for the price! Expensive and not impressive. We got the shepherds pie and the beef stew ( with hardly and beef ) Server was a little stuck up as well. All in all I'd rather eat somewhere else and get better service!

Seriously amazing. It is freezing cold outside and the food instantly warmed me up and put a huge smile on my face. Recommend the Irish beef stew boxty.

Don't go in expecting an Irish bar. There's some seating that kind of looks like an Irish bar. There's a menu that has some dishes that sound Irish. There a lot of American items that have had Irish sounding names attached. The Beef in the stew is corned beef. Hmmm. The sausage is just overwhelmed by the amount of sage they put in it. It doesn't taste all that authentic,. Bangers and Irish sausage are a couple of my favorite things in life. These get no love from me. The bacon wrapped shrimp is certainly not Irish, but it was pretty darn tasty. I could have done without the vegetables in my bangers and mash. A big spoonful of almost steamed, unseasoned mixed veg that has enough water on on them to water down all the gravy is dumped on the dish. Not good. All in all, a beautiful space with a theme and menu tacked on that is just acceptable. Some food items are pretty good. Others are not so good.

My friends and I were up in park city during sundance and we decided to have dinner and drinks here before heading across the street to Noname. All of us wanted the fish and chips so we ordered about 3 plates of those and got some beer to down them with. The fish and chips are gooooooood. So good! Huge portions so we shared. But we didn't share our beers =) The downstairs area with the bar is also nice to have a couple drinks and chill. It's loud and everyone's drunk and it's great.

This is truly a Park City hidden gem. Don't let this traditional Irish Pub feel fool you, the food is FAR better than bar or pub food. The shrimp pops should not be missed. Four giant prawns wrapped in bacon and fried crisp are served in a succulent butter combo of garlic, shallots, white wine, and lemon juice and served along-side ciabatta cheese bread. The blackened ahi crostini has sashimi grade ahi tuna atop crostini bread and a cilantro pepita dressing. Those ingredients are then topped with house-made pico de gallo and drizzled with Sriracha. For the traditional Irish fare, the whiskey chicken boxty is amazing, the corned beef boxty is incredible, and both the shepherds pie and Irish beef stew are great. Don't forget to have the traditional beer battered fish and chips that are the freshest you find outside Dublin. Wash all of this down with Guinness, a Smithwick's, or try one of the many amazing Irish whiskeys on hand.

Flanagans is a nice bar. We sat up front in a quiet booth. Air circulation was poor and the seats were raw hard wood. The Irish coffees were a hit. Delicious and warm....until we received the check; $8 each. We were floored. We drink them all over the country and have never been charged more than $5. Unless your a wealthy chap, we wouldn't recommend this bar. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain

Live yelp'n this. Currently up in this joint. Tunes are solid, cheap drinks period point blank end of story. Editing my review (an hour and a half later), that's all I can do. Yelp is a foo. Chicken wings are good, feeling so hood, I'm white and I'm crude.....so blank you and this food.

Stay away!! Got take out from here after a long and tiring driving and it was horrible. My kids hated the burger, said it was gross lol. I had the curry pasta, which was soggy and not tasty at all. Also ordered a chicken sandwich which was disgusting. I don't know how they have 4 stars

We had lunch here today. There were so many choices, we had a hard time deciding! Ended up splitting the mussels and corn beef sliders! Yum! The corned beef was really good.

We had the pub burger with fries, and the burger definitely quenched our thirst for a good grilled burger. The service was slow, we were seated in 45 minutes, and even after we were seated, my friend HAD to ask for a waiter to take our order. (In their defense, it was sundance week)

The best and most fun bar in town. We had great service and the waitress was very quick with our orders despite our large group.

Flanagans has been my go to restaurant in Park City for years. That isn't going to change any time soon after another fantastic meal tonight. The menu has changed a little over the years, but when my wife asked on a whim if they could still make her favorite boxty, our server, Michelle, went out of her way to recreate it for her. It wasn't exactly like the original, but if anything it was better. My Irish stew boxty was also fantastic. And, the fries are as good as they come.

  • Ben H.

It was so-so.... Had beef stew which had great flavor but only 3 pieces of beef. Disappointing for so much money. Also has a wedge and it was disappointing. Bacon bits instead of bacon pieces. Then the Bleu cheese dressing had no flavor and was watery. Overall, I will not be returning. Just kind of bland all around.

I can now say I'm a fan of Irish food. So, I asked the waitress what she recommends and she said the Irish stew, so that's what I ordered on top of a boxty. What is a boxty you ask??? It's like an Irish style crepe, but made out of potatoes instead or that's how they serve it here, anyways. Now for the food.... The fries here were actually quite good. Crispy steak fries that were soft in the center. The Irish stew boxty sat on top of a layer of mash potatoes and topped w/ chunks of soft tender beef and sliced carrots which were smoothered in a layer of guinness gravy. I got to say gravy makes everything taste good. Inside the boxty was more meat, onions, and carrots. The dish was just a tad salty, but not overly salty at all. I don't know if it was because of the food or the guinness, but i really wanted water afterwards. The who dish was a winner in my opinon. I didn't mind the double carbs since I love carbs. All in all, I would totally come back to this place.

Travis is the man! There's little one can do after drinking a tad too much coffee. Travis understood my plight, and in an hour I had come down nicely on a regimen of perfectly mixed screwdrivers.

I didn't eat here so I can't attest to the food. The beef stew that was being devoured by the guy next to me looked very tasty though. And when I say devoured, I mean i can't believe my wife and I both caught of glimpse of the food in the dish. As for the bar itself, the downstairs is where it's at. Huge basement bar similar to the one that all the cool kids' dads used to have. Very man cave-ish. Kinda made me think back to the days of spin the bottle, sneaking warm beers...nah who am I kidding. I was home doing homework. Hahaha. Anyway, the downstairs features a decent size bar, small stage for live acts, large oak-like barrel tables, and a back lounge area decked out like a den. Soft leather sofa and all...well soft from being old and weathered, not from being made from fine leather. The bartenders are amazingly attentive, and genuinely friendly. We had a great conversation with the bartender this past Saturday night about the beers he brews at home. It was a real conversation, and he never missed serving a single other customer while at the same time never being rude to us. Very cool. They offer some great craft beers as well, at bargain, basement prices. See what I did there? Basement bar...basement prices. Anyway, check this place out. To top it off we saw a Salt Lake local perform called Holy Water Buffalo. Killer sets from these guys.

Our group was looking for a place to hangout and have a few beer before we went to dinner. We ended up eating there and it was amazing!! I recommend the Spicy Potatoes, not at all what you would expect but fabulous! My husband had a burger and his fries came with gravy which was again surprisingly tasty! Try the Snake Bite of your looking for a lite and refreshing beer!

Pub food is really hard to screw up, that being said I really enjoyed our experience at Flanagans. We came here on Christmas eve, after first trying to make it into Bandit's. We were seated promptly, and greeted by our server, Chris. Chris was excellent throughout the meal, and was attentive and jovial. The three of us dining started off with salads. They were quite big, and taste wise were above the average starter salad. Dinner for me was the corned beef sandwich with a side of fries. The fries were delicious, definitely the stand out of the meal. I read on the menu that horseradish was supposed to be put on the sandwich, however it was only put on one half. The first half I ate was the one sans horseradish, and was pretty bland. The other half more than made up for that error. I sampled my mother's fish & chips, and found that to be quite good as well. Perhaps my rating is a little generous given we were starving when we walked into this place. However, I found it to be generally good fare, and if you're looking for some nice Irish comfort food, Flanagans is a safe bet.

It does the job. I watched the Super Bowl here. The waitress didn't understand that standing in front of the TV to ask questions wasn't the best place for her. The food wasn't bad, the beers were okay. We were here for a while and it did the job.

I visited Flanagans while traveling to Utah for ski trips twice in the past two years. We've always had a great time in their basement on Friday nights due to fun bands. The drinks were moderately priced. If you're looking for a place to have a nice drink and fun on the weekend, I'd highly recommend visiting their downstairs.

Went in for a beer and was ignored by the waiter. Went to the bar to buy a beer and the bartender was apparently too busy to pour a beer. This was on a Sunday afternoon with about 15-20 people in the establishment. Very poor service.

My boyfriend and I just wanted to apres. With that being said, this was not the spot. To start off, it took several minutes before we were greeted by our server. We both ordered Patron Margaritas with salt (a $12 drink). What we received were two Margaritas (who knows if they actually used Patron) with an Spicy Old Bay Rim. Our server quickly dropped the drinks off and ran. We tracked her down and asked if it were possible for them to be remade with normal salt. She said no problem, but that is how they make their margaritas. (Even if this is true, we did ask for salt rim.) Anyways, she brings us back two more margaritas and tells us that we can keep the Old Bay ones. We told her no thanks, we really wouldn't have sent them back if we thought they were drinkable. (The Old Bay Margaritas were not cleared from our table.) We decided that this was definitely not a place to order an appetizer or put ourselves through any additional agony. (Looking at the couple beside us and they pushed around their greasy mess and had a look of total dissatisfaction as well). Also, the place had a peculiar smell, reminiscent of old cheese, feet and a hint of fried food. Yum! Anyways, as soon as she brought out the remade margaritas we gave her our credit card and asked her if we could go ahead and cash out. She comes back with a $30 tab (without an itemized receipt). And the drinks were $12 each, so our drinks should have been $24 plus $1-2 for tax. We will round up and say our bill should have been $26. Yes, it was only a couple dollars, but it was a terrible experience with bad drinks, bad atmosphere and wasted an hour of our afternoon. We pointed it out to our server because it seemed pretty obvious she "grated' us with their 18% gratuity or whatever probably deeming us as pains in the arse. However, we always tip 20%, so that was dumb of her. Anyways, she apologized that she did not give us an itemized receipt (we never saw one) and had to get a manager to help her 'fix the glitch'. I worked as a server for many years and one of the few things you can't undo without a manager on most POS systems is 'ungrat' a table. It takes her at least 15 minutes to get the 'glitch' removed from our bill. Such a ridiculous experience, we will never go back! And that's sad, it's one of the closest bars/restaurants to our house.

We had the fish and chips and the shepards pie. Both were not good, the fish was really bad. Service was bad, I had to get up and go get a water pitcher from the bar because the server was no where to be found. Would never go back.

I went there with a large group and aside from not being willing to give separate checks, the staff was VERY accommodating (they did break it down into four checks for us, which was manageable), and provided incredibly friendly and efficient service. The menu is big (maybe too big and could benefit from streamlining) with plenty to choose from. Though I didn't try them, those who tried the Ruben Rolls raved about them. The Potato Leek Soup was okay. I was leaning toward the Irish Beef Stew Boxty, but when I asked, our friendly server said that she liked the Whiskey Chicken Boxty better. I wasn't a big fan and found it to be a bit too "earthy" tasting. I sampled some of the Irish Beef Stew that one of my dinner companions ordered and found that to be amazing. Next time. Also in the plus column is the restaurant's affordability and that they welcome diners who are under 21, even later in the evening, unlike some other post-9p.m. dining options in Park City.

Good luck with the $30 challenge... Honestly, we split that plate of delicious fried goodness among 4 people, and still had leftovers. Good drinks and a nice atmosphere.

It's a great Irish bar. I was there for lunch with my parents (very picky eaters) and we did not leave disappointed. Dad had fish & chips, which the server described as individually battered at the time they're ordered. They sure tasted that way -- perfect, flavorful battering over delicate and perfectly cooked whitefish. The fries are the rectangular prism kind (did I just remind you of high school geometry?) that are about 1/4" wide, 3" long, and 1" tall. They were fresh, crispy, and delicious. I had the potato leek soup (already pictured, but mine was a bit more toasty brown colored) that was rich, thick, and full of the mild leek flavor. Our server was very friendly (though there was only one other group in the place) and admitted to us that people often can't believe that the food is as good as it is. So certainly on a non-busy day, you get a very good experience. I don't often get up to PC for "everyday" kinds of foods, but I'd like to go back for the boxties (I've had them at other restaurants and would love to try there) and grab a drink. The atmosphere looks cool -- board games in the back, TVs where you need them, and a classic Irish bar with decorated dollar bills all over -- whether it's super crowded or reasonably quiet.

I recently went back for the corn beef tacos I loved so much. I use to crave these and would make a special trip to Park City from Salt Lake just to scarf a few down. This last time I went they were so disappointing. Seems like they changed the recipe. They use to be served with small cubes of corn beef that were juicy with an amazing horseradish sauce. This time the corn beef with cut very thin and in little bits with only a cabbage slaw. The thin cut of the corn beef allowed it to get really dry especially without the horseradish sauce. You should have just left a good thing alone. Hope you change your recipe back so I can get my fix. Maybe I'll start a campaign.

been to alot of irish pubs in the UK and for me, this is as close as it gets to the real deal. The building is old, long and narrow like you're in Ireland. Everything is right. I got the bangers and mash, because I can never resist them. fresh, lots of taste, and delicious. My wife had the whiskey Chicken and it was so rich and creamy she couldn't finish it all, but it had all the taste. They pour a proper pint of Guinness. Nice and slow, and in the right way. If you're going irish thats important. Most Utah bars don't know how to do it. They do. Huge Plus. Wasn't that impressed with my server though. Maybe she needs another chance. Everyone has off days, but she was slow for very simple things. Like, 20 minutes slow. I know what a proper pint takes. All in all, the best I've seen in Utah as far as food, spirits and atmosphere. It wasn't cheap, but the food was excellent.

I am a long time Park-ite (dare I say local since I've been here since I was three :) funny thing about people wanting to be, or calling themselves locals, but that's another story.) I'm here to write a review about this amazing place that has great food, great service, and a great atmosphere (hard to find all three.) Back to the local thing, this town has gone through a lot of changes and a thing missed is feeling like a local (where everyone knows your name 'cheers'.) They may not all know my name but I feel some of the old vibes I did back in the day when everyone did.

I was not expecting much when I arrived here but my kids wanted fish and chips. We all ordered different meals and were happy with what we got. The best meal was the salmon sandwich. The fish and chips were done pretty well. The tuna salad was ehhh but the tuna was done nicely. The service was good but not as attentive as they should have been.

I don't know If it's just us (bunch of Asians) in Utah but all our dining experiences outside the ski resort is a major fail in service. this place included. it seems as if we get all the airheads or they don't just give a flying f*ck. they cleared our drinks while we were in the restroom, they didnt really swing by to check on us, gave us the bill without asking if we needed anything else and a fake ass thank you when she grabbed it back. as far as food was concern it's alright nothing big to write about nor bad enough that it wasnt edible. if the service was actually decent, I may have given it more stars....guess we Californians are spoiled.

Good comfy vibe. Great pub fare. They accommodated our party of eight nicely. I would go there again next time we crave a boxty or bangers and mash!

Great place to stop in for a burger around lunch time! They were out if smithwicks yet had it on the window:( Only reason for only 4 stars. Guinness was good as usual and I settled for an IPA. Great music!

My favorite place on Main to have a drink and people watch. Friendly staff and one of my favorite Irish Pubs. I do like Durty Nelly's on the San Antonio riverwalk, but it was a lot more fun when Steve Palmer was manning the piano. In PC, this place is great.

We had a great meal here on our last night in Park City. Our server Michelle was super friendly and happy to share her favorites on the menu. The beef stew and Shepard's pie were big hits. Even the kid's chicken strips looked delicious. Nice pub atmosphere but also family friendly when we were there in the early evening.

Located in the heart of Park City, Flanagan's is I think the only Irish Pub in the area. It can be only described as MEH. I have been here twice each time thinking I will be getting something better than standard fare. This is not the case. It looks like a standard Irish Pub, but the food is lackluster. I order Fish and Chips and the Shepherds Pie. Both lacked flavor and body. Instead I was left extremely underwhelmed. Although the food leaves something to be desired, the staff is friendly and they have plenty of adult beverages. I would pass on Flanagan's if you heading up or down Main St.

My wife and I and another couple had lunch here on a whim and we were thoroughly pleased with the food and service. The bartender/server (Tanner) kept up a good healthy banter with our group and was extremely helpful with recommendations. Two had fish and chips made from fresh cod done to perfection and served with great fries. The Whiskey Chicken Boxty was new for me and it was very tasty. Beef stew was spot on. The Guinness was expertly pored (even had the shamrock on top) and I recommend it.

The service was awesome, we told our waitress that we were in a rush and she took care of us like we were the President! The crowd was very casual, super fun, the music was awesome, the atmosphere was super pumped. Food was good. Will go back for sure! Lots of skier, ski bums, very casual, good after ski!

Cheapest place to eat on Main street. I had the Mac and Cheese, good portion size and delicious. The bar is loud and roudy and you hear cussing being shouted across the place. Not my ideal way to eat lunch. A burger and Mac and Cheese was $24, not bad for 2 people to eat on Main Street. Wont be my first place to go to next time.

We decided to stop in Park City for dinner on our way home and picked Flanagan's, an Irish Pub. We originally sat outside on their little patio, but the chilly night forced us inside. The inside was fairly dead, as it was a Tuesday evening, so we picked a two top near the front window. The atmosphere was fun inside and I could really see this place being really fun on the weekends. They only had one waitress working and though there weren't a lot of tables, she seemed to be constantly running around. This is totally excusable and not her fault, but her attitude is completely her fault. She was rude and abrupt. The very first time she came to our table, she dropped menus and said, "what do you want?", presumably asking if we wanted to order a drink. We hadn't seen a drink menu, so we asked for one, which made her sigh in disgust and run to fetch one. I know she was busy, I know she had a lot on her plate that night, but how hard is it to be nice? I ordered the Veggie Boxty and Matt went with the old Irish standby, The Shepherd's Pie. A boxty is like a thin pancake, think crepe, made of potatoes! Inside was mushrooms, squash, carrots and broccoli, all in a white garlicky sauce. YUM YUM!! Matt's Shepherd's Pie looked great, too- served with broccoli, squash and carrots on the side, it was huge in a individual casserole dish. He said it was awesome and ate the entire thing. I would try Flanagan's again on a Friday or Saturday, but advise you to stay away during the week when they don't have adequate service.

Good prices for park city, but food was just ok. Buffalo wings were not very meaty and the sauce was a bit vinegery Irish stew not particularly meaty but taste was ok. Corned beef and cabbage had very thin slices of overlooked corned beef. Skip the cream sauce that they pour over the dish. Food not withstanding, the place has a good bar feel to it. Service was friendly.

We had a party of 8 including children but they had no problem seating us in a very ample booth. The server was Michelle and she was so friendly and helpful. Her suggestions were all big hits including the whiskey chicken boxty with red pepper added. I had the shepherds pie which was full of meat and veggies and topped with fluffy cheddar mashed potatoes. My son had the fish and chips which were cooked to crispy perfection. Other dishes at the table included the Irish stew which had a nice addition of mashed potatoes and the bbq chicken wings which were delicious. The beer selection was great and everyone had something that they enjoyed. The service was spectacular. The manager was very friendly and visited with our table for a while. All in all it was a great evening out in Park City!

Scammers!!! PAY ATTENTION to your bill! We went there on a Saturday night and sat in the bar area downstairs. The bar tender was also our server and we were a party of. We kept getting told that they table we sat in usually rented out for $300 a group so we were lucky that we were not getting charged. The bar tender at first was good, but it soon when downhill. He could not remember the drinks that we were ordering or the food we ordered. We even called him out on it before we started to order our food and asked if he was going to be able to remember it all without writing it down. He laughed and said yeah so we placed our order. Well he came back 2 times to get it right. Then when the food came out it was wrong and we still had not gotten our second round of drinks. Then the bill came... Good thing someone in our group looks every bill over!!! We were charged gratuity, which is fine, but it's usually for over parties of 8 or more, most the time. Then there was a line item for "Other Service Charge" and it was the same price as the $36 gratuity. When we asked the bar tender what is was all he said is that he did not know how that got on there and that they did not usually charge the gratuity. The busser that was standing there watching this go on laughed as if "HaHa you got caught." Also since our food was all messed up he said that he was going to comp one plate and never did. We ended up paying the gratuity and not the "Other Service Charge" it was a double bill on the gratuity. So heads up watch your bill!!!

Great food, Great Service, Wonderful Experience. I had the pleasure of eating here on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013. The restaurant was busy but we were quickly seated. I ordered the Bangers and Smash...Delicious! I can't wait to come back and try another tasty menu item. Thank you Flanagan's for an enjoyable meal!

We just had an excellent meal! Fish & chips and Irish Burgers. The servings were huge and the flavors so savory. We needed one meal to be grain free, so they made un-battered, fresh cut fries for us and served the burger without the bun. Our server was very accommodating and super nice about it, a trait hard to find anywhere!

I went on a quiet Friday for lunch. There was almost no one inside and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I chose to sit at a table by the window which was very nice. I sat down and ordered a local beer and the bartender took a moment to chat when he brought it. I decided to go with the fish and chips as it is a personal favorite and came recommended by my waiter (who was just the right amount of friendly without being a nuisance). The meal was excellent (even though the beer and the recommended old fashioned I had weren't my favorites) and I would certainly return for another meal.

Stopped in to watch Monday Night Football with my broseph. (Good job Saints!) Alright...GET THEIR TRADITIONAL WINGS. Holy frijoles Shit Batman. These may be the BEST wings I have ever had in my life. The sauce...was great. Very unique tasting. Wow...dude...wow. Besides that, ordered some spinach artichoke dip, which they serve with toasted buttered bread. Pretty good. Also, had a couple of Shoptop beers. All in all, good experience. I liked this place and would come again if I ever have enough money to visit Park City in the future.

Very poor customer service. The dishes came to us cold and very disgusting. After complaining they said there was nothing that they could do. We had to pay for a cold meal that tasted like crap. Never coming again... I will be telling everyone I know how horrible this place is. Thanks Flannigans for ruining my 1 year anniversary.

I am sorry, that I forgot to write this review right after being at Sundance, because everyone should know how good this place is. It was also great, to be able to walk in at lunch and get a seat at the bar. Would highly recommend sitting at the bar for lunch. They serve the same food and the bartenders are great. They had I think the best food we ate in Park City this year. My husband had the stew which was delicious and I had the Corned Beef Tacos, which were out of this world. I am looking forward to going back in January.

Men in Kilts. No reservations, small space. But MEN IN KILTS. You know, if that's your thing. Their service was only so-so, not that friendly or helpful at all. I felt like the server only did what he was obligated to do and it made me want to say, "Well I'm sorry for being such an inconvenience but..." And that, my friends is not how you should make your paying customers feel! In the end, we were also charged for an extra glass of wine on our ticket and I wasn't a fan of that - attention to detail, please! BUT, the reason for the third star is because of the food. My husband and I ordered the Mussels with White Wine Sauce which was light and flavorful. I also had the BBQ burger and it was done well and accompanied with very delicious sweet potato fries. My friend ordered the Mac & Cheese with truffle oil that came with a little crab cake on top and THAT WAS GOOD. It made me wish that I ordered the mac & cheese! It wasn't overly creamy/cheesey and the flavor was well balanced. Do note that the pricing isn't cheap seeing as how it's a touristy place. In the end, the food is what will bring me back but only if I am in the mood to be patient with their lack-luster service!

My friend and I stopped in after a drive through Deer Valley on a Saturday afternoon, and it was perfect. We went in with the expectations of just getting some good food and booze on Main Street in Park City. I take that Irish pub business with a grain of salt; this is Utah, after all - not downtown Dublin. We ordered the wings, some fries and beer (I was maybe irrationally excited that they had Wasatch's pumpkin ale on tap), and it was all delicious. The wings completely exceeded by expectations by actually having meat on them (hey, you'd be surprised what some places will serve), and the flavor was fantastic. Our server displayed the perfect amount of attentiveness without being overbearing or without disappearing for 30 minutes at a time, which is always a relief. Hey, as long as he kept bringing me refills ...

  • Leon R.

I really enjoyed this place when I came to visit Utah. It's really laid back but still fun to come to with a group of friends. I particularly enjoyed the cover band that was playing in the basement. My only complaint is that vodka and Redbull had very little vodka in it, but that just might be a Utah thing.

This place is as close to a real Irish Pub as you're gonna get in Park City - cozy, dark, good Guinness, attitude-y bartenders (in the good way!) Drew, the manager is awesome (not only because he wears a kilt, but because he's just a genuinely nice guy). I will definitely call Flanagan's my go-to bar while here in Park City for Sundance 2012.

I don't post a lot of reviews on here - I'm mostly a lurker, but I felt compelled to write this review, seeing the negative review that one person left after an unsavory (no pun intended) experience. While I can sympathize with their plight, I must say that our experience was quite different. Oddly enough, it was also my husband's 40th birthday and we wanted to go somewhere a little different. I couldn't have been happier with Flanagan's. I found the wait staff to be very prompt and courteous without being overbearing. We started with the reuben rolls and a sort of buffalo potato thing that's hard to describe but extremely tasty. My husband had the NY steak and I ordered the Whiskey Chicken Boxty (delicious)! We had a $25 gift certificate from restaurant.com and I'm always a little afraid that we'll get sub-par service if the waiter knows we have a coupon, but this was not the case at all! He was super kind, took the coupon right away so we wouldn't forget and never let up on the service. With drinks, two appetizers and entrees (one being a steak), our total including tip only came to $65 - a bargain by Park City standards! I would definitely go back!

Found this Irish pub on accident walking down a cold night down Main St. in Park City Utah... Originally we were supposed to go to an Italian restaurant that when we got there was closed and they were removing the booths out from the restaurant.. nice huh... But this place had a nice warm feel to it and our waitress was really friendly and nice. We ordered the thick ass center cut pork chop which took forever to cook but hey it was really thick. Our waitress kept us up to date on the status of our meal so that was nice. I had the corn beef & cabbage and red potatoes drizzled with a whiskey sauce. I had never had the whiskey sauce on corn beef cabbage before and it was really good. The food was good and the service was just like the food.. But a nice place to hang...

There are some images that automatically spring to mind when envisioning an Irish Pub. An upbeat environment with lusty lads downing pints of lager in a dimly lit, dark wood bar laughing uproariously all while fun music plays in the background and you just know you are going to have one of the best nights, even if you can only remember part of it the next day! And Flanagans wasn't it!! Bright lights glaring over mediocre decor, music beyond terrible (elevator music is better than what was playing here), bartender who completely ignores you, and most people whispering at their tables afraid to make a peep! The ambience and service were so uninviting, we had to leave after one beer, so I have no idea how the food is, but I have a feeling I didn't miss out on anything! Unlike any Irish Pub I've ever been to and not one I'll be visiting again!

Irish pub a first for us. This is a place for the 20 to 30 somethings. Good atmosphere for that crowd. Ordered potato skins for appetizer. We liked these very much with a sauce that had a little kick to it. The problem was that they were lukewarm at best. The main course; wife had fish and chips. She thought they were perfect. Not over breaded and the chips just right, not greasy. I had the Bangers Alfredo. Okay this is my fault. Irish-Italian "cuisine"? The sausage had no taste, the Alfredo was very thick and gluey. This also was lukwarm. Wife ordered a Cadillac margherita which was served in an old fashioned glass. I know it's an Irish pub but you are paying for the best ingredients and you slap it in whatever is handy? It was not very busy for 4:30 which is why the main course was served just a couple of minutes after the appetizer. So why was everything just warm? Service was ok but nothing here to bring us back (unless just for drinks, which you can do anywhere in PC).

Great food! I'm usually a little apprehensive when ordering fish and chips, having had fish and chips on the coast several times, I'm kind if spoiled. I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were at Flannigans. Just as good as what you would get on the coast. My wife got the Chicken BLTA and we shared our meals. It's hard to decide which meal I liked better. I'm definitely coming back.

I thank this establishment for introducing me to the wonderous spice and kick of Colman's mustard. The boyfriend and I crawled our way to Flanagans on a whim, after perusing all the offerings on Main Street. I had a fabulous grilled veggie sandwich, which was the perfect conduit for my new spicy mustard obsession. We loved the service and beer so much, we stopped by for a second meal a few days after. Like any self-respecting Irish pub, dark wood paneling is lined throughout- but this place is clean and always busy. The prices are extremely reasonable, and they even have board games (connect four) you can grab while you wait for your food.

My husband and I stopped here a couple of times during our ski vacation for the Guinness. We did not sample the food, so we can't speak to that, but we enjoyed our experience. It seems like they have pretty good event-nights throughout the week including bingo and $3 pint night. Of note though, the Guinness is not included in that price - we paid $7 for each pint. A bit steep, but then again, it is Main Street in PC. Overall, a nice place to grab a Guinness.

This is one of my favorite spots on Main St. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff is easy going, but very attentive. And the food...The food is terrific! It is set up like a traditional Irish/British pub, complete with cozy nooks, large booths and a mix of high and low tables. The atmosphere is relaxed. You can sit at a table without ordering food and enjoy some Irish Car Bombs. The large booths look as if they'll accommodate 8-9 people. There is an assortment of board games to play while you're drinking or waiting for food. It's a fun, family kind of place. The food is delicious. I actually waited to write this review until I had tried a few more menu items. Fish 'n Chips- classically prepared with homemade tartar sauce. I loved it! Plus, it is available in a whole or half order. The half order was just enough for me and only $8! Just in case the half order wasn't quite enough, they give you a ton of fries on the side. My bf can easily polish off the whole order though A Rueben sandwich has always been a favorite of mine at any restaurant and this one does not disappoint! The corned beef is high quality and cooked perfectly. Now I have a hard time trying anything else on the menu. Thursdays they offer tacos for $1.50 each. At first I thought it was strange to have tacos on an Irish menu, but after a few beers I tried the fish tacos. Amazing!! They use a large piece of fish prepared the same way as the Fish 'n Chips and top it with some creamy salsa. I would have to say that these were the best the BEST fish tacos I have had in Park City. They blow Windy Ridge's $2 tacos out of the water. The staff is great and creates a warm, welcoming environment. Come in, sit wherever you like, order food or just drinks, play a game, hear some live music and have a good time. I'll keep coming back!!

We had been in Park City on a cold rainy day and decided to go to Flanagan's for some good old Irish Stew..... The ambiance is fun, wood floors, huge booths, a bar with drunk people laughing and singing.. It was cheerful on a rainy afternoon! THANK GOODNESS!! I had the Guiness Irish Stew-5 Stars... A HUGE bowl of Beef Stew, loaded with meat and seasoned with stout. It was fantastic. Piled high in the middle were freshly whipped REAL mashed potatoes, seasoned just right (no garlic, just butter and a bit of S&P.) It was perfect. My hubby had the bangers and knosh (sp)... Sausage and potatoes. What this fare included was a MOUND of sausages and a MOUNTAIN of the aforementioned mashed potatoes. Also 5 stars and fantastic..... We both got a bit of Irish Soda Bread too... Can't say I am a big fan, but it is great to soak up your leftovers... It is not meant to be the most flavorful thing on the planet and does its job! :) Try it, you will like it....

Giant booths, PBR in a can, surprisingly good food, and board games to help kill time. Awesome. We got the sausage pocket appetizer thing - WICKED GOOD. Shepards pie: pretty decent. Bangers and Mash - wicked good! The place was utterly DEAD when we were there. Even the bartender went out for a smoke and hung out at the bar across the street! But we had fun - played Jenga while waiting for our food. Great place. I recommend it if you're in the area and in the mood for a beer and food that's a step above typical bar food!!!

Worst Customer Service EVER. We spoke with Tim and made reservation by phone for a 40th birthday party a week prior to our arrival. We stopped by the day before to confirm the reservation for a private room with Jimmy the manager. He showed us a private room to the right of the entrance that we would be sitting in. We delivered a cake(for the birthday boy) 2 hours beforehand, and again confirmed the reservation. When we arrived ten minutes earlier than the reserved time, the private room was filled with customers, the manager (Lacey?) had no clue that we had a reservation. Her flippant response? "I haven't been in for a few days, don;t know anything about it, that's too bad." The staff was rude and begrudgingly slapped a few tables together in the middle of the bar for us. Fast forward 90 minutes after slow service and soggy food: They doubled charged the gratuity as "Additional service charge". No apologies, no attempt to make up for their error. NEVER go here, they are miserable.

After a full day of boarding, we headed over to Park City to find some food. We walked along Main St and discovered that most restaurants were packed w/a wait of at least 45 minutes. We continued to walked and stumbled upon Flanagan's. They were able to squeeze in our group and the prices were reasonable. Some items I tried: 01. HORNSBY'S HARD CIDER - 4 stars It had just the right amount of apple flavor and light crispness. 02. FRENCH FRIES - 4 stars It came with a curry dipping sauce. The fries were medium size cut. Besides it's hard to mess up fries. These were crispy and not oily. Yeay! 03. NEW YORK STEAK 12OZ ($26.95) - 3 stars Served with whiskey sauteed mushrooms, mash potatoes and veggies. The steak was cooked medium rare when I asked for medium. The flavor was a bit bland. 04. BROWN BREAD ICE CREAM - 3 stars I think the flavor was vanilla with small chunks of bread in the ice cream. The texture of the ice cream was smooth, it looked lumpy, but tasted okay. The atmosphere was relaxed and lively. There was also a live band, so it was cool. The restaurant had two levels, we sat in the basement level.

I was here recently and had the best service ever! My honey's Irish stew was beyond tasty, our puffed pastry brisket appetizers was huge and the flavors were spot on. My fish and Chips were a bit overcooked and that's the only reason it got a four star. Great place and very nice people along with true authentic Irish food. I'm a Private Chef her in the South Bay and I have tried IRish before and its was so great at other places.

We were between lunch and dinner and were looking for some food. We weren't sure what to think when we first walked in and weren't greeted. Once we finally sat where ever we wanted, the good service began. We started with the Reuben Appetizer bites which were delicious. We also had the Fish & Chips which were the best I have ever had. The fries were beer battered too! What prevented me from giving it 5 stars was the pork special. The pork had more fat than I would have expected and the apple au jus sauce was more like a gravy. The pumpkin ales on tap were awesome. Lastly, the server Adrienne was so courteous and efficient (5 stars for service) I would come back again!

"Leave to Nick to find an Irish pub in the mountains" said the group. Though I responded with "this ISN'T an Irish pub". Just because they have a few wooden booths, Shepard pie, and some Gaelic writing on the wall does not an Irish pub make. The closest (that I could see) to Irish they came, was the top notch service and the food (though maybe not, Irish food isn't all the best. Hey! You know it, don't hate.). All around I could here people raving about their meals. I myself though wasn't hungry but I had to at least snack on some curry chips. They were damn good! Our waitress was this super friendly woman, so friendly in fact it was hard to get upset at her when she didn't know what a black velvet was or when she stared blankly at me when I asked what kind of cider they had. She asked what do you mean, like hot apple cider?! I gave her that same confused look back. Ok, what kind of rum do you have?! Other then a few hiccups it was quite nice and I'd go back.

This place was OK. My husband liked his shepherd's pie, and the portion was huge. My spinach salad was a little bland, maybe because two of the ingredients listed on the menu were missing. The potato leek soup is very good. Nice atmosphere. Service was good, but the waiter didn't seem too familiar with the menu -- maybe he was new.

Service was slow, even after the initial crowd was gone. Corn beef and cabbage should have been billed cabbage, vegetables, with a little corn beef.

The Corn beef reuben was fantastic! Great food and drinks to get your Park City Experience started. The food tasts fresh and made to order. The beer and Irish coffees are great. There are large booths for large groups and down stairs is a cool bar with a great atmosphere. I would go back and eat here anytime.

  • Procter F.

The food is a little above average but the atmosphere and price can't be beat. The bangers and mash are definitely one of the better items on the menu. I also tried the beef stew which was really not much better than Dinty Moore. With that said the food was definitely above average for a pub and coupled with the great atmosphere makes Flanagan's worth a return trip.

This place is pretty solid. I dig the two huge booths at the back of the top floor. Never made it to the bottom floor so can't speak for it. Our big party ordered burgers, wings, curry fries, and sausage rolls. The wings were a bit sweet for my taste, but everyone raved about their burger. And they have some crazy straight-from-the-frat-house Irish car bomb contraption. It holds four pint glasses and four shot glasses poised above them in a ring, with a big plunger in the center. The waitress hits the plunger, the shots fall, and you know what to do next...wipe up all the Guinness that goes splashing everywhere.

For a Friday night, this place was pretty quiet for a bar. They have small selection of beers- including the irish favoite of Guiness, trouthead, seasonal brews and a few others on tap. The menu is also tiny, with prices ranging from $7 to $20 per meal. I had a chicken ceaser wrap. There was not a lot of flavor to the ceaser dressing or the chicken. I didn't hate but it wasn't super delicious. My friend tried to order off the kids menu because she didn't want to eat a half-pound buger and the waiter refused to let her. She offered to pay the regular burger price for the childrens burger but he said it wasn't allowed. That's pretty silly to me and a waste of food. One other thing that was kind of annoying after an hour, the music. Seriously, it seemed that they had the same music playing over and over again. I get that it is an Irish Pub and they want to play Irish music, but mix it up a bit music coordinator! I've been in Irish Pubs in South Boston on St. Patty's day that played less Irish music. I like Irish music but there's more then one group that performs that genera. There's no drive for me to go back to this bar/restauront, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't.
